This Wednesday - Who Are Our Streets Design For?

Who Are Our Streets Designed For?

Lots of you have said in the 'Your Chorlton' survey (still live until Sunday 19 Sept - get filling it in people!) that Chorlton has:

    Too Many Speeding Cars

    Too Much Traffic

Not Enough Outside Space For Sitting And Chatting

So it's worth discussing who our streets are currently designed for?

This Wednesday! Our Streets Chorlton Community Forum

The September Community Forum will be centred on this question, exploring our relationship to Chorlton as a place and our hopes for its future.

We'll also be launching an interactive map where you can place things you'd like to see in Chorlton on it and can collaborate on some starter ideas at the forum!

If you want to be a part of the discussion, join us on Wednesday the 15th of September at 7:30pm here's the Eventbrite link to sign up! https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/169313422003

If you have any thoughts, comments or local news, let us know, we'd like to hear from you.

Do you want to understand more about Chorlton's carbon footprint? Join us tomorrow evening!

Then you should come along to our next Data Chat, hosted by the Open Data Mancheste r crew who have been making sense of some of the traffic and air quality monitoring we've been working on during the project.

Chorlton's Carbon Footprint - How Are We Looking?

Join us for a friendly and informal chat, where we'll explore some of the data about Chorlton that we've been gathering and exploring, what it tells us (and, perhaps, what it doesn't).

Each month we'll explore some different information, present some recent data and then have plenty of time to chat and ask any questions.

This month we'll be joined by Matthew Basnett from the University of Manchester, who's been exploring the place-based carbon calculator and will take us through what it can tell us about the carbon footprint of Chorlton!

These sessions are open to everyone - whether you've taken part in the Our Streets Chorlton project or not, whether you live locally or elsewhere, whether you're a data expert or simply interested in finding out a bit more about where you live.

Here's a link to the invite. We'll be on zoom. Looking forward to seeing some new faces in the mix!
