We walk or cycle to school every day in order to do our bit to keep the air clean, and because we enjoy having the time and headspace together at either end of the day! The kids also say that they like the fresh air and exercise before they start the school day.

The amount of motor traffic outside school during drop-off and pick-up times makes walking and cycling to school hazardous, both in terms of the risk of accidents and air pollution.

We live a 10 minute walk from school so it’s easy to walk/scoot most days. I work in Lymm part of the week, so usually drive the kids on one day a week on the way to work. We try to park farther away and walk a few minutes.

I find the number of cars outside school has increased creating a lot of friction as drivers rush to get a spot close to school creating unsafe conditions and increasing air pollution
